This is my 3rd season growing Egyptian Spinach ( Molokhia), this vibrant plant produces highly nutritious leaves rich in protein, and is popular throughout the Middle East, India, Sth East Asia, and Japan…also known as the Food of the Pharaohs…

Young leaves are eaten raw in salads, and the bigger leaves can be cooked and used as a spinach, it has a mucilaginous, slimy texture when cooked, tea is also made from the dried leaves.

Medicinally this plant has been used as a tonic, demulcent, diuretic, for pain, piles and tumours and other conditions….
